A spokesman for Time Magazine went fully and quickly
on the record today by stating that their Person of the Year award, just given
to Mr. Trump, in no way should be taken as Time Magazine considering him to be
the best person of the year and should not be taken as an endorsement of Mr.
Trump or any of his policies. If that anti-Trump statement from Time Magazine
isn’t a pile of political crap I don’t know what is. But that’s what liberals
do.
Donald Trump only completely upset the Democrat and
Republican elite classes and shocked the entire world with his win over
Hillary, and he only destroyed the Democrat Party, which will be picking up the
pieces for the next 25 years, that’s all. Other than that, he’s just a regular
politician on the hustings.
Heaven forbid that we would think of Trump as a good,
patriotic American and a successful businessman, but the Time spokesman was
clear that he considered Trump to be nothing special and to have no redeeming
qualities, he just came out on top of the presidential race, that’s all. No big deal there.
One could take the spokesman’s words as a maneuver to
beg Time’s liberal readers for forgiveness for naming Mr. Trump as the Person
of the Year. They couldn’t help but give him the award because he won the
election in spite of all the editorial support, and very likely considerable
campaign money, that Time gave to Hillary. They hope their readers will not
blame them for Trump’s success; Time wanted desperately to defeat him, after
all.
However, I would be willing to bet that no liberal Democrat
ever received this or any other award from Time that was immediately followed
by an apology for doing so, and a backing off of any indication that the
Democrat was fully supported by the Time staff. In fact when Barack Obama was
on the cover of Time they perched a halo above his head, but that wouldn’t
suggest they supported him, would it?
But in the case of a Republican, and especially in the
case of Donald Trump, there is no way Time would give him a few months to enact
his own policies, establish his cabinet and advisors, and then see what he will do for the country
and for Americans who have been hurting for so long under the Obama
administration. As soon as the award was given they had to quickly begin
defaming this particular Republican recipient. They felt like they must place
distance between themselves and Trump or they would forever be branded as
traitors to the liberal/progressive cause.
